It is a very emotional time when our children leave The Village to begin the next stage of their education at primary school.
On Sunday 23rd August we said goodbye and good luck to one of our largest groups of children. The theme for the day was fairies, pixies, enchanted woodlands and everything magical. This was supporting the children’s recent interest in fairies, due to our fantastic fairy garden.
The event started with a magical treasure hunt in our mystical garden (also known as the toddler garden), where the fairies had left clues which led to small surprises for the children. Whilst our 27 families arrived, Paul (our forest school friend) was setting up an exciting activity for the children to be involved with.
The children then all took part in making bows and arrows out of twigs and sticks and had the unique opportunity to help light a real fire and toast their own marshmallows! During this time the parents had the opportunity to watch our very emotional slideshow which included some of the memories over the last couple of years.
We then all came together for the presentations, Claire’s speech and our fantastic preschool leaver’s song. By this time there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! After this the children sat down for a woodland tea party with snail sandwiches, babybel ladybugs, fairy themed cupcakes and lots of pixie juice. We bid fond farewells to all the children who have left this year from all the staff at the Village. We will miss you all but we know that we have given you a great foundations and preparation for school.
