The toddlers have been very interested in challenging their physical skills recently so we decided to set up an indoor bowling activity using small balls and sensory bottles. The children used their coordination and throwing skills as they tried to knock down the skittles. This was a great activity which helped to build on the children’s turn taking skills.
During their second year toddlers muscle tone changes and they begin to develop muscle tone. It is important that we as practitioners give them chance to try out their muscles, which will improve strength and coordination, and are instrumental to the development of gross motor development.
